Among the snowy peaks of Taygetos and the deep blue Aegean Coast, in the Peloponnese, in Laconia, with its capital Sparta, is the heart and soul of Greece. In this beautiful location are the fields and groves and it is here, with tradition, passion, technology and expertise that Sparta Groves produces some superb Extra Virgin Olive Oils. For more than six generations olives have been cultivated on this site, providing the basic ingredient of daily food of the Greeks. In this particular the area of Sparta, the expression "bread & olive" reflects the tradition of millennia, meaning that the oil along with bread offers all the primary ingredients for the survival, health and well-being of man.
At Sparta Groves, their olive oil production combines traditional knowledge with modern technology, resulting in top quality olive oil. The family owns more than 2500 olive trees, which yield an average production of 15 tons of extra virgin olive oil every year. In a cooperative with our neighbouring farms they cultivate 30,000 olive trees and an approximate yearly production of 200 tons a year. Their flagship product is their hand-picked, early harvest Athinoelia Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
