Oróspeda is based in the beautiful Sierra de Cazorla, in the Jienense municipality of Quesada. This region is the home for the farms where their centuries-old olive trees are located and treated with the utmost care and dedication. The Oróspeda olive grove offers a unique product, with the highest quality standards, allowing them to use the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) "Sierra de Cazorla".
Most of the olive production is of the popular Picual variety, but a small part of our olive grove houses a coveted variety, known for its excellent taste: the Royal olive. This variety is concentrated exclusively in the areas of Cazorla, La Iruela and Quesada.
The presence of an olive as exclusive as the Royal variety has allowed Oróspeda to share all the flavour and aroma that this olive gives off, with soft nuances of green banana, almond and vanilla. The grove’s location in a limestone region is a major factor in this oil’s intense, fruity taste but one which is beautifully balanced on the palate.
Using the most traditional methods as their starting point, Oróspeda has incorporated the latest, cutting-edge technological innovations in the sector. With meticulous care and attention to detail, the result is a pure olive oil, with a great flavour which transports the exquisite essence of the Mediterranean diet to your dishes. The whole process involves cold pressing and extraction of the oil at temperatures less than 27°C.
At Oróspeda they pride themselves on the purity of their olive juice. There are no chemical additives and their careful processing has resulted in an oil of maximum purity with a very low acidity, perfect for the most demanding palates. Its quality is endorsed by the PDO "Sierra de Cazorla" which is a guarantee of traditional, responsible and ecological production.
