Olea Prilis is a brand with core values rooted in family and a love of the environment they are privileged to farm. They produce excellent, award winning, premium quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is a reflection of the greatest respect and commitment they have towards the trees and land.
The company was formed when there was an opportunity to purchase a farm in front of the owners’ existing house. The farm came with 1500 olive trees it was a chance to connect with the ancient tradition of producing olive oil that has long fascinated the owners of the company.
The "Primitivo" olive grove was actually planted in 2004. Since the change of ownership, it has now been restored with care and craft by the company. It comprises 1500 trees which are made up of traditional Tuscan varieties: Leccino, Pendolino, Maurino and Frantoio. In the autumn of 2019, the company planted a further 2,800 trees choosing mainly the Leccio del Corno & Maurino varieties. It is an organic farm, and Olea Prilis is produced with precision farming technology to ensure the lowest impact on the environment.
The location of the groves, in the unspoilt Tuscan Maremma is a famous region with many olive groves, vineyards and a spectacular Mediterranean coastline. The area is also the land of cowboys and wild horses, where the few remaining legendary horsemen, or Butteri, tend to their cattle as they have done for centuries. Local legend says that a solitary wild white horse roamed the marshes in the moonlight. The design of the Olea Prilis logo, with its single horse, reflects this.
