Home / MORE Chile

MORE Chile has its offices in the Chilean capital city. In contrast to the urban bustle of the city, their olive groves are actually situated in the Atacama dessert. MORE have found a way of producing olives using techniques that respect the environment and the land with which they work.
The olive groves are located along the valley of the Copiapó river, which provides enough water for them to survive. The trees in the groves have to deal with the desert’s extreme temperature where it can be very cold as well as very hot and very sunny, but being in the valley this is moderated in a microclimate that is perfect for growing olives. Enduring the adversities of the dessert, It is an incredible achievement to produce such high quality oil as MORE have done.
MORE have won multiple gold medals for their oils, in particular the ICONO extra virgin olive oil. This is produced from exclusively using the Frantoio cultivar which is well suited to the climate of the Atacama. Frantoio is a classic and noble cultivar grown widely in Italy, especially in region of Tuscany. One of its qualities is the ability to withstand more extreme environments.
The ICONO oil is unique and there is an added bonus that the Atacama's harsh conditions encourage the trees to react by producing more polyphenols.

Production of olive oil in Chile has grown significantly in recent years to the extent of making it the 9th largest producer on the world stage, in 2024.
