In the Middle Ages the Laudemio oil was known as the 'flower of the harvest 'and was traditionally only served at the Lord's table. For an oil to be labelled Laudemio, it must be produced according to the strict rules of the Laudemio Consortium of Tuscany. The Laudemio extra virgin olive oil produced by the Gonnelli family, Tuscan olive growers since 1585, is a superb extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality - it's the best Laudemio we have tasted.

To the nose there are aromas of the intense fruit of fresh olives. To taste, it is elegant and balanced with a strong sensation of fresh olive, together with light notes of green tomato.

This is an excellent oil for simply enjoying as a dipping oil, or for finishing a summer salad. It is also a great pairing with risotto and artichokes.

A note on the Laudemio Consortium: the Laudemio trademark brings together a group of Tuscan olive oil producers with the aim of producing extra virgin oils of the highest quality.
