Located in the heart of the Alpilles mountains since 1489, Château d’Estoublon is a 300-hectare estate which lives to the rhythm of the olive and grape harvests. Their production processes reflect their quest for excellence and this precious heritage, passed down from generation to generation, bears witness to the deep family history of Estoublon. They have a common passion for the culture of the land and its treasures.
In 1731, the first oil mill was built, and so the first olive oils were made. In the present day oil production is spread over 120 hectares of olive trees, split between 5 different varieties.
The estate is committed to putting sustainability at the heart of every decision. They favour the natural treatment of crops, avoiding any use of insecticides, and nourishing the land with organic fertilisers to promote healthy and sustainable growth. They also combine the natural grassing of the groves to protect our soils, with eco-grazing in order to preserve the environment and contribute to natural fertilisation. In another initiative, the estate also works for the conservation of the ecosystem by promoting biodiversity and protecting rare species.
Olive Tree Conservatory
The Estoublon Estate is passionate about preserving and passing on plant heritage and they have created a unique Olive Conservatory. More than 40 important varieties of olive tree from Mediterranean Rim are grown there alongside the emblematic varieties used in their oils.
